Cardiac Derived Extracellular Matrix Enhances Cardiogenic Properties of Human Cardiac Progenitor Cells
Researchers investigated the influence of the myocardial matrix hydrogel on Sca-1-like human fetal and adult cardiac progenitor cells when encapsulated in 3D in vitro. They also evaluated the use of the myocardial matrix as hydrogel for in vivo cell transplantation and demonstrated that the gelation properties of the hydrogel are not influenced by the cells. Extracellular Matrix Structure
The authors review the complex extracellular matrix (ECM) structure to provide a better understanding of its dynamic structural and functional multipotency. Where relevant, the implication of the various families of ECM macromolecules in health and disease is also presented. [Adv Drug Deliv Rev] Abstract
